About Meta

Meta comes from a long line of accomplished artists. It wasn’t until college at Indiana University, that she decided to take her own talents seriously graduating with a degree in Graphic Design with a major in Art History in 1976. Upon graduating she worked for a boutique commercial printing company in the Chicago area until starting her family in 1979. Years went by as she and her husband raised their three children before she picked up a colored pencil and soon in 2005 was a finalist in the thirteenth annual Colored Pencil Society’s International Competition having her worked displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was about a year after receiving this award that she picked up an oil brush and started on one of the best adventures of her life, oil painting. Meta and her husband have had a lake house on Big Glen Lake, Glen Arbor Michigan since 2000 which has given her the opportunity to be inspired by the surrounding landscape and the varieties of farm animals for the past twenty plus years. Through the years she has enjoyed being acknowledge for her work with many blue ribbons. Meta finds joy knowing her work is displayed in many restaurants, Inns, shops, and lake homes surrounding Leelanua County Michigan and beyond. Main Street Gallery in Leeland Michigan has been the most important home for Meta’s paintings the last fifteen plus years where she has been very successful and now has a following of buyers all across the country. Main Street Gallery has held many shows in her name both individually and with others. She is a very prolific artist enjoying painting in her studios knowing her work will someday take it’s new owner to wherever the painting inspires them to go.
