I have lived and relished the last 25 years of my life with my family at our lake house on Big Glen Lake, Glen Arbor, Michigan. During my time there I have photographed the landscape and animals that live here taking them home to my studio, on the north shore of Chicago, as well as another studio in Naples, Fl. I always paint from a place I’ve photographed because it’s important to me to have that memory of being there. Main Street Gallery has primarily represented me for the last 15+ years and I would say I have not only grown as an artist but am proud to say have a wonderful following of repeated patrons as well as being represented across the country. My background is in Graphic Design with a degree from Indiana University. My passion initially was drawing and composition. As I have grown my style has evolved into a more painterly and loose impressionistic style. My once pen or pencil has become my oil brush. The brush has become an extension of my hand, expressing who I am as I emotionally observe what I’m viewing. My lines and color are becoming more organic and flowing into one another as nature and living creatures guide me. My goal is to transport the viewer to their own place giving them a sense of peace and perspective of what they are viewing.
